When do I need to make recordings?

You should make a recording anytime you feel symptoms (palpitations, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc.) or whenever your physician has instructed you to make a recording. If you experience your symptoms frequently (several times a day), you may wish to consult with your doctor's office regarding how often they want you to record.

Why is my monitor recording without me feeling any symptoms or pressing the button myself?

Your physician has prescribed you to wear an auto trigger device. This particular type of monitor reads your heart's activity and will automatically record when it detects an abnormality.

What happens to my recordings after they are transmitted to Life Support Systems?

Your recordings are reviewed by our critical care staff for any abnormalities and then forwarded to the physician/clinic that ordered your test for their professional review.

What if something serious shows up in my recordings?

Life Support Systems always has direct access to your physician. Should you record something that is considered "serious", Life Support Systems will be in direct contact with you and your physician's office to direct you to seek proper medical attention as specified by your physician.

Can I wear the monitor when I shower or take a bath?

No, the monitors are not waterproof and must be removed prior to any possible water contact.

How often do I change my electrodes?

The electrodes or "patches on my chest" are to be changed every 2-4 days. The electrodes are waterproof and designed for multiple days of use.

What do I do after my monitoring time is completed?

You should have received a monitor kit from your physician's office. Inside the kit is a prepaid mail-back envelope. Place your kit with the device and any extra supplies into the mail-back envelope and place it in any USPS mailbox or give it to your letter carrier.
